Appointments
Thank you for your interest in Pediatric Associates of Orlando. We are committed to providing the best possible care for your child and family. Before your first appointment, please have all previous medical records sent to us. We participate with most insurance plans, and accept payment by check, cash, or credit card. Payment is due at the time of visit.
All patients are seen by appointment only. Appointments are made between 8 am and 5 pm, Monday through Friday. Our Mills office provides evening and weekend hours for our sick children only; there is an additional fee for this service. To schedule an appointment for routine well care, sick visits, and physicals, please call the Mills office at (407) 841-7290 or the new Windermere office at (407) 654-6506 during regular office hours. To best accommodate children for illness care, please call early in the day to arrange for an appointment. All attempts are made to schedule same day illness visits.
Well Visits
Well-child visits are scheduled with your primary pediatrician during regular office hours. Scheduling these check-ups two to three months in advance is recommended. Within the first few days after your baby is born, call our office to schedule your child's first appointment. The American Academy of Pediatrics has a recommended schedule of well-child visits that we suggest for your child.
Recommended Office Visits
After the child's second birthday, we feel a yearly check-up is sufficient. During the first year, it is wise to make your appointment as you are leaving the office. Please make your "well check" appointment as early as possible, as our schedule sometimes fills up as much as 2 months in advance.
Sick Visits
We schedule same day appointments each day after 8 am. If you call early, your child will be seen sooner and there is a greater chance of seeing your regular physician.
Telephone Calls
When calling for non-urgent matters such as well baby advice or prescription refills, please call during normal office hours whenever possible. If your call is regarding an urgent situation, please inform the receptionist so we may handle the call appropriately. Calls are generally returned later that same day or at the end of the day in the early evening. Please note that our telephones are especially busy in the morning.

After Hours Telephone Calls and Telekids
A physician will be on call at all times for medical emergencies. Non-urgent matters should wait until the next business day. We do provide sick and emergency appointments during weekday evenings, weekend mornings, and holiday mornings at the Mills office. We utilize a telephone answering service before and after office hours called Telekids. Most medical questions will be referred to our pediatric nurse triage system, which offers over the phone assistance. They have specific protocols on how to manage problems and when to call the physician. You will be charged a fee for after hours help.
Cancellations and No Shows
Please call us as early as possible to change or cancel your appointments so another patient can utilize that time. Failure to cancel an appointment will result in a charge of $50.00 for the time reserved for you. Non-canceled appointments / No Shows may result in dismissal from our practice.
Fees and Billing Policy
Finances are a necessary part of our relationship. Payment for services rendered is due at the time of your visit. This includes any co-payment or applicable deductibles. Payment may be made by cash, check, Mc, Visa, Discover or American Express.
We are participating providers of several PPO/HMO insurances. We will be happy to file the insurance for those plans in which we participate. We will assist you as best we can to insure that payment is received from the insurance company, however, we ask that you follow up on insurance payments not received within 45 days from the date of visit.
